They also clean the Google index for pages with little relevant content (thin content) or URLs that are not intended for entry via the search (imprint, data protection, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>The most common implementation is the integration of the meta tag in the &lt;head&gt;:<\/p>\n<p><strong>&lt;meta name=&#8221;robots&#8221; content=&#8221;noindex&#8221; \/&gt;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Noindex by X-Robots-Tag<\/h2>\n<p>As an alternative to the &lt;head&gt;, a noindex can also be placed in the HTTP header using an X-Robots-Tag. This is possible, for example. B. for PDF documents without &lt;head&gt;. This prevents the crawlers from following individual links on a URL.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&lt;a href=&#8221;&#8230;&#8221; rel=&#8221;nofollow&#8221;&gt;&#8230;&lt;\/a&gt;<\/li>\n<li>&lt;a href=&#8221;&#8230;&#8221; rel=&#8221;nofollow sponsored&#8221;&gt;&#8230;&lt;\/a&gt;<\/li>\n<li>&lt;a href=&#8221;&#8230;&#8221; rel=&#8221;nofollow ugc&#8221;&gt;&#8230;&lt;\/a&gt;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The nofollow attribute is usually used e.g. B. applied to special utility links such as a login or shopping cart reference as well as links from paid partnerships. The sponsored attribute is used to mark paid links. The ugc attribute distinguishes user generated content.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Editors must be able to provide individual links with each individual attribute using three checkboxes.<\/li>\n<li>The attributes can be combined as required.<\/li>\n<li>This option must be available separately from the function of adding the nofollow robots meta tag to individual URLs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>HTML attribute: \u201cdata-nosnippet\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>You can use <a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/search\/docs\/crawling-indexing\/robots-meta-tag#data-nosnippet-attr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">data-nosnippet<\/a> for an entire page or selected text sections to prevent the preview from appearing in search results. It&#8217;s important to know that the <strong>data-nosnippet<\/strong> attribute can also prevent the desired preview from appearing in AI-generated search results. Therefore, it&#8217;s recommended that you use these directives with caution when applying them to specific text sections and the SERP snippet display.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&lt;div data-nosnippet&gt;<em>not in snippet<\/em>&lt;\/div&gt;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The noindex attribute is used to mark URLs that should not be indexed by Google.
